I believe much like Boris does - the years since Glastnost were rife with corruption and thievery, such that much fissionable uranium has been sold to Iran, North Korea and other even more nefarious forces. What remains of Russian nuclear arsenal is very likely in very poor condition, with 90+% inoperable.

If the Satan II "accident" is indicative of the present state of Russian weapons technology, the West really should have nothing to worry about.
