I trust you are a man of God, and there are more than enough arguments and quotes in scripture about the divinely accorded privilege of Free Will, then why would you choose to take any ability for one to make any choice about their bodies or their lives away from them? It seems to me that you might very well be guilty of taking that free will away from someone just because they are doing something that you yourself dont believe is virtuous or in keeping with what your own choice would be?
Someone chooses not to get a vaccine - therefore you should force the person to have the vaccine. All the people who hypocritically marched up and down in front of any public building holding signs embossed with "my body, my choice" are entirely wrong then...
If its simply to point out someone else's "selfishness" in making their own choices, then your expectation and indeed demand that she doesn't have the right to make that choice is you showing your own selfishness. YOU can say that YOU would not have chosen that path and would have kept the embryo or fetus - that is YOUR CHOICE. But you are not a woman - you dont have to be the one to carry something growing inside you for 40 weeks and then figuratively carry that new person around afterwards for 18-21 years. You dont have to sacrifice your career and then live potentially hand to mouth feeding yourself and a dependent for that time. You dont need to battle a system and a very vocal and militant minority that compels a woman to keep the child and reveres that child in utero but on birth turns its back on that child and the mother and refuses to support them...
The stupid arguments that the self-righteous pro-lifer evangelicals use is that there are people out there who are desperately seeking children to adopt. That is the biggest lie since if there were so many of them, and they were truly desperate to adopt a child - there wouldn't be so many unwanted children right now in the system bouncing from foster home to foster home until they age out of the system. People who are desperate to adopt dont care about the color, ethnicity, circumstances of the child's birth, etc... they find the child that they need and who needs them, and they take them in showing all the love and nurturing that they claim to have to give. There is no shame of the child being different from them - in fact there is a greater love accorded to them as they are a gift to the needy couple looking to care for and nurture, support the child through adulthood. BUT this is not the case and there are 424,000+ children right now in the USA who are proof positive of this very fact. Taking away the choice to keep or abort a zygote or embryo from a woman contributes yet more unwanted kids to an already overtaxed system that is NOT experiencing a high demand for them. All of you who believe the bullshit that the pro-life side gives - go adopt a kid and put your money where your mouth and your signs are. Stop protesting women's health clinics and put up or shut up.
And if it is in your own world your "right" to publicly shame and judge the choices someone else has made - then please tell me and provide your life story that would provide absolute proof that you have made nothing but virtuous decisions, the right choices in every circumstance - that you have not exercised your free will in a way that God would be critical of? If you try to say that you have lived a virtuous life, then right there you have committed sin since you cannot judge yourself and only God is the judge of the actions and paths we ourselves choose to take.
Matthew 7:
[1] Judge not, that ye be not judged.
[2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
[3] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
[4] Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
[5] Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
So shut the fuck up and let people make their own mistakes and determine their own destinies. You can choose not to agree with anyone, myself included and walk away to make your own choices and determine your own fate. "First cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye" - clean your own fucking house before you tell others how fucking filthy their is. Laying judgment on anyone is not YOUR RIGHT or PRIVILEGE. You and all the pro-lifers out there are not assigned proxy for God - you will stand in His/Her/Their judgment at the moment of your death and be held to the same standards as everyone else, based on your God given burden of Free Will, measuring all the choices you made, including being a self righteous ass writing a misguided opinion piece or maybe many opinion pieces imposing your own morality on others...
